I finally decided to get an iCDX, and am surprised at how well integrated it is with VDJ. I was expecting to be able to use it natively as a controller, but I didn't realize how many features would be available. For example, how the names of the audio FX show up on the LCD as you scroll through them from the dial... nice surprise :)
I plan to get another one, but only have 1 right now and am almost convinced that that is actually enough to do a gig. The one thing I can't figure out is how to crossfade from the iCDX. If I can figure that out, I can probably get rid of my MIDI controller.
Anyone know how to crossfade with an iCDX?

iCDX is a player not a mixer.
I'm not sure to understand your question...

You can use only one iCDX, but you will still need Midi or External mixer since you can't crossfade with it. Eject button is for switching decks in VDJ.

I was basing this on the following post by TearEmUp:

I will try to contact TearEmUp directly to see how to do that, and will post back here when I find out.

I agree with Cstol, the iCDX, and you only need one. To operate the cross fader you can just turn a knob, to flip from Deck to Deck B you just hit eject. And to adress your point to stop the music, just push on the center of the platter.

CASE CLOSED!
TearEmUp straightened me out :)
The parameter knob (upper left hand side of the unit) acts as a crossfader. I could have sworn I tried that, but I guess not. Works like a charm!
Thanks Terry!
