First the specs.
Acer 1.6
Intel Core Duo T2060
1 gb Ram
Intel Graphics 950 Video Chipset
w/ 224 Shared Memory
Granted it isn't made to run video, but the video still works with Hardware Acceleration unchecked. When I try using Hardware Acceleration it crashes the Laptop. I tried setting the presets both ways (Fastest & Best Quality), unchecking safemode & overclock, it still crashes.
Also when I had the Master Tempo/Keylocks locked, the music became choppy everytime I tried to do anything.
And finally the Pointer goes nuts around the top of the screen & the record case.
Now before I really get pissed off and wipe out Vista, I thought I'd give it one last shot.
Does anyone have any recommendations for fixes?? Or am I better off loading XP?

This is 99% of your problem - Intel Graphics 950 Video Chipset w/ 224 Shared Memory
Crappy chip set - Intel
Crappy memory option - shared
All around crappy scenario and even under an XP load you won't get any better performance in the video department. But under Vista or XP you should be fine in an audio exclusive environment.

to confirm intel has stated they will not be releasing an update for this chipset for vista
it will only be supported by a weak generic driver
and definately shared memory lacks that needed punch
perhaps its time to trade in your pc or buy a new video card

I'm not really interested in using video on the laptop (it's a laptop that one of my guys will be using for Djing & Karaoke)
I just want to fix the Master Tempo/Keylock & Pointer problem I have with the default skin, especially the pointer problem.
Like I said before, the pointer goes nuts when I put it on the search database box, the spinning record, and the waveform display window.
Anywhere else on the skin it works fine.

Does this ocur on any skin or just the one you are using now?
if all it sounds to me like you might be overtasking your computer.
Go to options and go to the tab called performances . Set on Fastest , ensure that master temo is set to fastest aslo. Untick safe mode , if you are using a desktop machine untick overclock . If your using a laptop leave it engaged for a performance boost Please Also set autolatency
its aslo worth looking into optimising windows processes and services you can find info on my blog about this and other blogs

Based on your description of the issue, it seems as if the problem lies in your video card. Your main problem lies in the fact that you're running Vista without the propper support for your chipset. In other words, your video card might not even be running properly.
Note, before attempting this fix, be sure to first set a system restore point on your system!
You can try running the new Vista drivers for the 945 set and see if that fixes your problem. Secondly, Vista runs muuuuuuuuch better with 2 gigabytes of RAM, as its background processes alone consume approximately 600-700 megabytes of RAM.

Karaoke is video. It relies on the video card!

Hi,
If you havn't already, make sure Vista "sidebar" is turned off, also set the windows theme to "classic" and get rid of the "aero" interface thingy.
Then you could have a play with disabling some services (anything to do with networking pretty much).
That should give you some more performance, Vista is meant to be more efficient with graphics than XP i think.

Update:
I decided to wipe off Vista and reload XP Professional, everything works like a charm!
4.3 Works great even with Video's with Hardware Acceleration turned on & the mouse pointer doesn't go nuts anymore.
Maybe VDJ still needs a little work to run on Vista.
Thanks for all the idea's guys.
