Tópico: Running VDJ on a seperate WinXP User

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I wanted to run VDJ by itself on an addition user on windows xp.

my original was
Andres (computer admin) --original

then,
i created another user
San Andres (2nd user) (strictly for VDJ use)

I booted VDJ...

But all the settings were defaulted.
Is there anyway I can have all my settings exactly like i have them in the original "Andres" user VDJ?

I tried copying an "Andres" version of the VDJ Folder and overrode the "San Andres" VDJ Folder. The only thing that happened was that my keyboard shortcuts were transferred...nothing else.

Could someone help me transfer my specific cues for my mp3s. Thanks!

go into the vdj program files folder..

you will find two XML databases. The first will be titled "VirtualDJ Database (Andres)" and one will be titled "VirtualDJ Databse (San Andres)"

pretty much you want to delete the new San Andres one.

then, make a copy of the old Andres one, and rename it to the one you deleted... so it'll read "VirtualDJ Database (San Andres)"

that should make it so that your old database (your cues, analyzed BPMs, etc.) will be opened by your new user account!

it would be better to copy the olddatabase

(andres) and rename it to (san andres) deleting the db will cause it to make another blank one

Just copy your old database without account name ( "VirtualDJ database.xml") and it will use all your info and it will automatically add new account name. For settings you need to set it again or transfer Registry key because that's where they are, not in VDJ folder.

i actually figured it out on my own, but you look at you guys...ALL OVER THIS TOPIC. I love it. Thanks a bunch guys. Highly appreciated.

We are here to help
Glad you sort it out ;)

You guys may want to compile a Top Tip sticky.. add this one

That's what I did when I created a dedicated user named VirtualDJ ;-)
