Does it happen when there is just one track playing? Or only when two are are being mixed?

It happens on both. Most of my music is ripped from cds but mp3s are more likely to do this.

Im using a hp laptop with intel celeron M processor 160ghz 504 mb ram. Windows xp home edition.

Thats odd. So it happens with both wav and mp3 files but only on the recording? Can you hear any of that happening while you play live?

Upgrading to 1gb ram solved a lot of my problems.

Since you use Home version, disable Timestretch option and Limiter. Use Autogain option on Always 0dB or Always match and try it then.

Dj Alf. that seems to have worked all the beats are there no matter the speed of the tune.

Thanks to everyone for the help.
