Every time I try to play a video file I get the above message.....how do I sort this out?

Something is wrong with your video card driver, try updating it and also update Direct X to the latest.

Video card driver error is as descriptive as asio driver and directx error. Basically, the only problem is your configuration has changed since you last used VirtualDJ. The most likely case is, you have specified in Video Settings to use an external monitor which either isn't connected, or the resolution is too low. Change TV Output to (Window).

i would agree with andrew to your problem...only if it happens when you re-open vdj if not check directx update and if still having problems then djalf gets the gold star..

Sometimes you have to set your computer up to use 2 monitors,
This you do in your Monitor settings found in the Control Panel in your Settings folder.
Other times you have to go into VDJ's settings and click on the tab "Video"
then put a check in the box under "Video Output" to "Activate" your video drivers.
