Tópico: PLaylist not saved

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I am still using ve 3.4, and up until now whenever you played out, the songs would
be saved in the playlist folder.
Now no tunies played are saved into the folder.
suggestions please.

3.4? Why?
Try to reinstall VDJ, just save your database.

3.4 has been more stable for me. I use the automix for dinner music and it has worked whereas ver 4 does not.

No verf 4 has not been installed.
Everything was fine until Sunday. Removed playlist from favs and re added. still will
not save playlist. Also when you first go into VDJ it has a "working" folder until you end the session. This is also gone.

I just deleted and reinstalled ver 3.4
Same thing, playlist will not save. Do we need to go to reg edit and
make some changes? If so what need to be changed.?

Use Dj Cel's registry tool, at the link above, and turn on auto save

I went to reg edit and changed the value from 0 to 1. That did not work so I will give the reg tool a try
Thanks

Norway:
it says only works on ver 4. I tried anyway and get "registry data not
found, open and close dj software first."

bogart -
What OS are you using? XP ? Vista?

And this might sound crazy but go to C:\Program Files\VirtualDJ and rename the Playlist folder to playlist -- (if the P is UPPERCASE change it to lowercase or if ' p ' is lowercase change it to UPPERCASE )

I actual experienced a similar issue in version 4 when it first released and it's because how it was referenced in the DB XML - making the change in name to the folder or in the XML fixed it.

And DJCel's Registry tool only works on 4.x version because the registry entries changed in 4.x

Using XP. I went to pgm files. Was lower letters, changed to upper.
Still no go. Also the "working" l ist is not there anymore. Maybe this has something to do with it.
I just want to get through this week & weekend with v3.4. Any other suggesttions?

Can you locate Autosave key in Registry? It should be in Local Machine>Software>VirtualDJ.

DJ-ALF
Went to Reg edit. and changed value from 0 to 1.
Reg edit/local/software/vdj
Still no luck.

Did you just change the letter P to upper OR the whole word? Just the letter P should be changed. (I know sounds weird, but I did experience this problem)

My only other suggestion is look in your VirtualDJ Database (_____).xml file for the Playlist favorite entry and remove it and see if there is more that one entry and remove those as well.

Also - check your private message for another suggestion.

Did you restarted windows?
I would reinstall windows if I were you.

Have you installed 4.x version too? It turns auto save off

Use DJ Cel's registry tool, to turn it on again ;)

You can find it in tools download section
http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/tools.html

I downloaded the registrytool but I don't see an option for this? I then looked through the registry manually and didn't see anything obvious, other than AutoSave which is related to recording files rather than saving playlists automatically etc.

You also won't have to restart windows after making a non OS dependent registry change such as this - not that AutoSave is actually the right key to begin with. Just make sure that the program which settings you're adjusting isn't open when you're making the change. Suggesting reinstalling Windows is just ridiculous. I wouldn't put it down to being in the database file incorrectly either, Windows is case insensitive and if VirtualDJ was unable to find the folder it simply would not appear in the bwrowser.

Yes I did re start windows after changes. I am not sure about re installing Windows.
I am planning on installing ver 4 next week, so maybe this will be taken then.
Ver 3.4 has been so stable for me I hate to change it, but I guess it's time.
