If anybody has some video editing skills and wants to try and win some gear you should check out this website:
http://rootsrockvideo.imeem.com/

This website imeem.com is doing this video mash-up contest for the new Bob Marley album. If you win you get a mixer and a "secret" prize. My video skills are limited but I might give it a try.

Anyway, thought I'd let people know...

Good luck if you enter!

I'd do it but it's pretty late notice now. You have to use all original content which would be the hardest thing for me.

I downloaded the zip file they had on their site. It's just the mp3 of the song and some pictures. No videos at all.

Hey Man and his Music

You could take a vacation to Jamaica W.I
and i could teach you some video editing skills

Vegas, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Particle Illusion, ProAnimator 302

then you would be enjoying your time, plus learning at the same time

I have very basic video editing skills. Enough though where I was able to edit some videos.

Some songs have those stupid breaks in the music where the music cuts out and they have acting dialoge. I hate that crap. If its a good song and there are breaks in the music... I edit that crap out. Justin Timberlake's "What Goes Around..." video is a great example of tons of useless dialog. The video is like 9 minutes long! Yet the actual song is only 5 tops.

And usually I can do it professionally enough so you wouldn't even notice there was a break.

Thank you for the invitation, but I didn't want to pay that much. On the real deal, you just gave me a good reason to come down. I feel like I have a friend in Jamaica, now. I will let you know if I can make it.

Anyone else in the NY/NJ area? Philly?
