Trying to come down to a descision into making a new laptop purchase. So I have some things I'm wondering.

GeForce 8600M GS

Stream Processors 16
Core Clock (MHz) 600
Shader Clock (MHz) 1200
Memory Clock (MHz) 700
Maximum Memory 512MB
Memory Interface 128-bit

GeForce 8600M GT

Stream Processors 32
Core Clock (MHz) 475
Shader Clock (MHz) 950
Memory Clock (MHz) 700
Maximum Memory 512MB
Memory Interface 128-bit

GeForce 8700M GT

Stream Processors 32
Core Clock (MHz) 625
Shader Clock (MHz) 1250
Memory Clock (MHz) 800
Maximum Memory 512
Memory Interface 128-bit

So what is good? What difference does the number of 'stream processors', clock mhz, etc. make? Do I really need a 1250mhz Shader Clock? Are any of these good choices for flawless and safe video mixing?

when in doubt http://www.gpureview.com/ GPU REVIEW it :)

but at the end of the day the higher the number the better it should therorecticaly perform

very simply:

the clock speed is how fast it can react to changes and display them on screen

the shader clock makes shading effects in games so that doesnt matter

the faster the memory speed the faster the card will be

and the memory interface affects how rapidly it is processed ,

Would any one of these work fine then? If gaming is not the intention.
