Tema: V5 Rev 5 Crashing [AUTOMIX+DMC2 mapper]

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Thankfully it was a very slow night at the bar tonight. VDJ Crashed no less than 3 times while in automix. At no time was anything being touched when the crashes occurred..save once. I clicked on the next song to start it early... and crashed. here's the crashlog:

Crash ID=06ca03ec (date=710232250, version=5.0 rev.5, build=505, thread=Main, dump=c74024ff, excode=c0000005 (1,77dd7499))

Did you use the plugin Random video Transition at the same time?

Because the crash is external to the kernel of VirtualDJ

So no plugins used (VST, VirtualDJ sound plugin) ?
Which extension (wma, mp3) had your files?

Do you use an external USB Hard Drive for your songs?

PS: The 3 crashs you had are in fact the same (understand same origin)

all files are on their own internal hd. they are mp3

if this makes any difference... the only changes to the pc yesterday was vdj 5.0 rev5 (from rev 4) and the new DMC2 mapper1.2.

Revision 4 crashed too... but not nearly as much

So to sum up. Can you answer the following questions:

1) Does it appear with automix only?
2) Does it appear without the DMC2 connected?
3) Are you songs already scanned in the playlist?
4) " I clicked on the next song to start it early... and crashed."
>> Can you reproduce that?
>> Was the next song already scanned?
>> Which song length?
>> Which automix type did you use when it happened?

+ Can you describe your computer ( CPU, RAM, OS, ...)

Are you sure that you only used mp3 with the automix? Because we start thinking that it could be a problem with Itunes songs used with automix.

Could you investigate on your side, please.

I don't use itunes files. I have none on the hard drive. I did a clean install of rev5 yesterday. I made sure to wipe out the registry and haven't had a crash yet, but i really haven't used automix much yet to give it the true test. all my files are mp3's encoded between 192 and 320 cbr

Since the clean vdj install i had several crashes but tonight i tested without the latest dmc mapper and no automix crashes. The only time it ever crashed in the past was during automix. You may be onto something with the boggis mapper

My PC:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (2.4 GHz, 4MB)
2GB DDR2-667 Memory
1 WD 80gb SATA HD (OS & programs)
1 500Gb & 1 250 Gb HD
1 Sony DVD Recorder, ADW-Q170A
Windows XP Pro
M-Audio Delta 410 Audio
ATI RADEON X1600 Pro 512MB VIDEO

all drivers current
never used for internet. music only machine

Maxx,

Need some details.

Can you confirm the crash now stopped with mapper removed?

Did you have the mapper installed at default settings or had you changed anything? Did you have random video transitions enabled?

Is there any chance you can post a screenshot of your VDJ config settings?

Thanks

No i did not have the random video trans on.
2 nights now without a crash. (finally)
the only adjustments i had to the DMC2 was to have the effects defaulted instead of the the cue points

OK, you can prob tests this for yourself if you like, BUT, there is a small bug in the DMC2 mapper, JPBoggis and I have been working through it. The crash happens if you browse any folders DURING a transition. So, temporarily until the bug is ficed you can either :-

a) Keep the mapper uninstalled

b) Reinstall the mapper but don't browse any foders 'during' the transition.

Personally I'm going with option 'a' I'm sure when Jonathan is ready a new mapper will be released.
