all computers get hot but the best thing to use also for comfort and controler space , or tt space , is the Griffin Elevator its a compact little stand which raises your laptop up to give better acess for air. It looks dam cool.

I'm not sure about Macbook's but Macbook Pro's are notoriously known for running very hot. I personally run SMC Fan Control for all my power applications. I have different settings for each application where I adjust the fan speed to exactly its optimal setting to keep it fairly cool. I believe for VDJ I crank the fans to around 5,000 rpm's. That way the internal fan control is not constantly changing the fan speed. It can also be used in Bootcamp which is how I run VDJ anyway.

Also the Odessy L Stand or the Stanton Uberstand are great for lifts and allow proper airflow.

So If my MacBook is at 2 GHz at 2 Gigs RAM, it would be good for video? What about 1.83 Ghz? Intel Core 2 Duo?

Speed, mine is not the best out there but it werk for me as i do only mostly audio. Mine is 1.83 ghz, intel duo core n only 512 ram, the macbook ver 1.1, the earlier ones. Bought it in aug 2006.
Gonna buy the macbook pro soon n upgrade the macbook but till now my macbook have not fail me.

If ur macbook is at 2ghz n 2 gb or ram. it is ok for video.
For really best on video, unfortunately if u can get the macbook pro which have its dedicated graphic card.

Regards;)
