I've seen into the .exe of VDJ is enclosed an old version of lame_encoder dated 2005/03/31 while here

Is not it better to bring this encoder up to date with the newest version?

wouldn't it be nice if vdj .. or if vdj users like you and i could some how use vlc's decoders with vdj?
vlc makes updates more rapidly than anyone.

Why do you need to use VLC?
It already exists a powerful tool that djcel made for us and you could use to change your favourite video codec in VDJ:
