Hey all,
I've been doing here some serious reading and still can't understand why is there a problem with the HD-3000 graphics?
My friend has recently bought a new laptop (MSI CR640/Intel® Core™ i5-2410M Processor 2.30GHz/Windows 7 64bit),
http://www.msi.com/product/nb/CR640.html
and he experiences issues when playing video clips as well.
The video is lagging and won't run smoothly.
Is there a solution for this problem, or does he has to buy another laptop to work with?

I'm running into the same issue. I PRAY for someone to shed some light on this...

Agreed...i have a barley 3 month old top of the line Dell xps 17 with optimus dual video cards. I can only get the extended video to run on the Nvidia 3gig card. The VDJ desktop itself insists on running on the Intel HD-3000 with choppy graphics! I dont understand why the Intel HD-3000 struggles so much with VDJ7..especially on the waves & spinning platters when the mouse pointer is moved over them!

I'm considering taking the hit on the laptop (even though I LOVE it) and returning it. I would really rather not though. Do you guys think this is something the VDJ team could fix with an update?

Open vDJ>Config>Video>uncheck use hardware acceleration

Assuming this is the optimus issue I thought this had been fixed in an NVIDIA driver update?
Don't later drivers also let you pick a card for the application?

In my case i have the latest firmware version 275.33 for the nvidia card. For some reason VDJ7 is stubborn and will only run the extended video on the Nvidia. The desktop itself runs on Intel 3000HD . I hope Atomix figures out why this is. I'm not getting any results from Nvidia or Dell support!

The unchecking of the hardware acceleration tab will make the video(s) play correctly, however, you will be unable to use transistions or effects; at least on 7.0.3. I have not updated to the new version as if I do, it appears my IDJ3 won't work. Is there any work around on this?

I have a Acer Aspire I5 2410 2.6Gh CPU with 6gigs of DDR 3 Ram...I did a full restore on my computer but did not update the drivers on the video card.....it runs nice and smooth now and. That's with Use Hardware excelleration checked!! So I can use the transition.....maybe it's the new drivers that are the problem??

any updates with this issue. VirtualDj is the only program that insists on running on the Intel HD3000 instead of my Nvidia! the extended video runs on Nvidia...but desktop still runs choppy on the Intel HD3000?

Its Using Nvidia Optimus or ?
Go to the Nvidia Control Panel!
There you can set exceptions for applications which to run by default with the Nvidia Graphic Adapter or with the Intel HD.
Choose there for the VirutalDJ Pro Exe the Nvidia Graphic.
Also Make Sure that your using the newest Nvidia Graphic Driver:

Finally after 9 months Dell offered an upgraded driver for the Intel HD-3000 on Dec 23, 2011. prior to this no matter what setting you forced on the Nvidia you got choppy desktop. Finally everything is smooth, even when moving mouse cursor.

Even though I have Windows 7 set to use the Nvidia card, VDJ doesn't use it until I activate video. This might help for those non-video DJs - just activate video in a window then minimize the window.
