I Highly doubt it. I guess it's just the "nature of the beast" to always have differences like this. You will see just wait a day or or two and someone will come in saying Mac vs Pc, Vinyl vs Controller....

This is almost as good as the fight that kicked off (by accident) about PnC vs using a controller!
Anyhoo, was playing B2B with a vinyl DJ, using my virtual pitch slider to match his mad vinyl 'skillz', and would really appreciate knowing how to map the pitch slider to the Shift+Up and Shift+Down cursor keys, to permanently adjust the speed by some 0.05pbm, in much the same way as left and right temporarily nudges the track. Sometimes, using my laptops touchpad, I can't adjust it as precisely as I'd hope to.
Anyone?

Furthermore, being a PnC DJ (can feel the hate already!), I use the SYNC button to match the BPM, certainly, only a fool wouldn't. Bet you all use a SatNav, and not an A-Z roadmap these days - same result, one more efficient than the other, but even a SatNav gets it wrong sometimes...
What we need to remember is the SYNC button is only good for matching BPM, not syncing the tracks themselves. I mix Hard House, and only Hard House - relying solely on the sync button would ruin a set, as the tracks would end up, although beatmatched, all out of time. See the poor diagram below...

O.k. time for me to put my 2 cents...so we got a sync button now...thats leaves more brain space for whatever else needed in the mix OR...whatever else you can think of to add to the mix (or your show?) and besides..we dont tell say Qbert to mix without some masking tape to show cue points on his battle records.reminds me when i got into the synth guitar...someone asked if that was cheating,being able to overdub on the fly...(?????) whaa? u never heard of electronic guitarists? LMFAO.. its what u make of it.and technology will keep pushing us to other levels as it allways has...in the future we will be past " bluetooth controled" mixers to say" telepathic brain control".then u can use your hands for something else...like fetch your favorite drink or just wave at the girls...yeah...

i use the sync button just to sync my bpm and rest of the thing i do by hand cu play then adjust with the jog wheel.. i do a lot of 4 deck mixing and i realy cant see me counting all that and doing what i do.. :/ i know how to mix on turntables direct drive and cdj i don't know i haven't tried a belt drive but i guess its kind of the same but its not rocket science :)

I use sync to get to the same bpm, do the rest by hand/ear. I'm still a fairly lousy DJ. I don't have the experience in the clubs, I have not acquired the ability to read the crowd and create a mood. This is where the skill lies; much respect to AMAHM and the others for blazing the trail and rocking the parties for so many years.

lol been at this game 26 yrs and counting. I used to hate cdj dj;s, then I crossed over. cdj dj's talked smack about pc djs, now I crossed over. my days of "proving myself" are long gone. I carried more wax than burts bees! I love evolution!

A real DJ uses belt driven turntables, the belt is to be kept on a continuous temperature of 22,39 degrees Celsius for the optimum viscosity. The DJ uses his fingers continuously on the records to keep correcting the bias of the speed of the turntable, therefor he must know his turntables better than his wife, kids, dog and lover. A real DJ does not use headphones, he rests his ear over the record and pre-listens purely in the audible sound. To determine the key of the record he will use his musical ear, its, by big exception, allowed to use a set of small tuning forks to guide him in this process. Its not allowed to write the detected key on the records. They are to be kept spotless clean.
For transitions the rules of the spinners DOGMA 1981 are applied. DOGMA 1981 prescribed at least one scratch, and three fader turns per cross over. Also the face the DJ makes when doing this must be carefully kept
