Just got a new laptop...

8gb of ram with 1 tb hard drive
using intel(R) HD Graphics 4000

(Dell Inspiron, running intel core i5, 64bit windows 7)

My problem is this:

When I select "Use Hardware Acceleration" the video begins to jump.

What can I do to fix this problem...???

BTW: of 7 year old dell ipsiron video works great but
I was starting to have small problems with this laptop general.

All and any help is more than welcome.

Thanks before for reading this post.

I see under REGEDIT that is show on the tabs

"Edit DWORD (32-bit) Value"

Should this say 64-bit in my case...???

I have tried to change the Video max but still getting video jumps...

Here are a couple of other setting a messed around with...

Went to performances in Setup and change the 48khz conversion to "Fast Sampling"

Also check "Decode while Hidden" in the Video options.

Still getting jumping or lag video... :(

open Windows registry (regedit.exe), go to the entry

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VirtualDJ

scroll down to VideoYV12Bug
change value of DWORD to 1 (default =0, values are in decimal)
close regedit and reboot

This has been covered previously on this forum as a fix for Intel integrated graphics (HD3000 & 4000)

BTW, you don't have to play with the registry, VDJ has a registry editor tool to allow you to change this setting.

Although this fix seems to work, Intel integrated graphics is a budget solution and not really for DJs using video on a permanent basis.

Thanks Keith,

I thought that I was the only one on this forum for a while... :)

I have done video only three times since I gotten VDJ and
like I said, Using my 10 and 7 year old Dell Laptops have always worked great.

I just wanted to put away my 10 year old Dell backup laptop and
move my 7 year old work horse to backup status.

I have ran the new Dell for about 12 hours since I fix it by using regedit with no noticeable problems.

Again, since I only do video about few times a year and since all three laptop are able to run my videos will no noticeable problems I think I will be ok.

Thanks for your input and information Keith.

For those who have a problem of jumping video ... here the solution:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8oQTrDN0wo

I have VDJ 7.2 running on a Intel HD graphic card onboard, with Windows 8 and the onboard HD Realtek audio card.

All my video was "jerking" so I did ONLY your solution # 1 in the video(the regedit stuff)

here the video title: Intel HD Graphics 3000 Virtual Dj Video Lag Problem Fix_1.mp4

googd luck

Oh guys this was horrible but thanks so much for sorting this problem I did exactly what you said and it worked thank god. I have a keen interest in IT but am only a beginner really so this one really stretched me prob sounds silly to you guys. But thanks very much. Really looking forward to impressing my customers by playing the videos to go with the music. Thanks again.

THIS WORKS THANK YOU VERY MUCH

I had the same problem with a brand new 2012 Dell Inspiron i7 with Intel 4000. I tried EVERYTHING but until using your registry tweak all I got was video with a 1 fps playrate. Thanks!!!

What the heck is this Dword that can be set to 1 instead of 0 to stop the jumping video with an integrated video card.?

Also someone mentioned using the registry cleaner. But i don't see a Dword tab. What are the proper settings when using the registry cleaner?

Hi. What should he settings be using the registry tool for using a computer with integrate graphics card to stop the video lag or "jumping" video?

I also have the same issue with some HPs with dedicated Radeon video cards.

Thanks for any assistance
