Tópico: Beginner: Starting with hardware using Virtual Dj Pro Full - Page: 1

Esta parte del tópico es antigua y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Hellow,

I'm planning to buy the RMX-1000 but first i want to know if this is working on a pc with Virtual Dj Pro full (used for 9 years now) ? Also i'm using VDJ to record my sets. I'm really new to this and want to start with the real thing. I just had for some years the Gemini CDM-500 to mix with but thats all, now i'm looking to buy DJM-700S and CDJ-2000 and using VDJ as well. Would you recommend this as beginner ?

Thanks and hope you can help me.

Any help plz ? :(

The easy answer is Yes it will work with PC Laptop running Windows and will also run on the Mac. Make sure you register your serial No as soon as you can :-)

RMX is a great place to start your Pro setup.

Good luck

And if i buy this controller "Reloop BeatMix 2-Deck Virtual DJ" do i need a seperated mixer (DJM-700 for the effects like: roll, echo, delay, trans, etc... or with the controller i have access to them? Because it gonna take some time before i have all my stuff so i planned to buy a controller for VDJ but having the possibility to mix tracks and use effects with hardware and not on VDJ anymore. Thanks

Why do you feel the need to use hardware for effects?

There are a lot of effects available for VDJ here (once you've registered your serial number) and VDJ can also use VST effects.......of which there are thousands. Much greater choice than buying any hardware unit.

Because i want to use VDJ only to RECORD my sets and have all the MUSIC i need. I Plan to mix only with CDJ's and a mixer and effects controllers. Thats why i don't want VDJ to use effects. So it possible what i said above ?

Yea, thats good. But to start i need a frame of the tracks playing you understand ? Because just by listening it will be quite hard at start. Traktor some people say but i don't want to use that i want VDJ. :-)

I was just about to say the same thing!

If you're buying all that hardware - CDJs, a mixer, effects unit........then there's no need for VDJ.

If you really feel the need to have a screen for searching etc. then Rekordbox will integrate with all the Pioneer kit much better.

Whats rekordbox ?

Ow, thats nice !!!! Can i record my mixes also with that ? So, with rekordbox i don't need cd's, i can put the songs on rekorbox and i have frame of the tracks playing + bpm right ?

You can't record your mix with Rekordbox. You would still need Audacity or something similar.

Have a google, loads of info about this out there!

Audacity is bad ! A friend of me records with that but everytime its saturates when he put a really litle bit bass. When re-listening the set its deaf sound like. Really not good quality.

With reloop beatmix 2-deck for virtual dj can i use a DJM-700 for effects instead of VDj ? thanks

I've been using Audacity for years without problems. Sounds like you input device or gain structure is the issue.

Pretty well rekordbox but i get waveform of one song how can i see waveform of the other song and match them ?

You talked about using CDJ-2000s. They have waveform displays.

You can drag & drop tracks from Rekordbox to the CDJ and see the waveform.

But really you should learn to mix with your ears (after nine years of DJing) and not rely on "seeing" the music.

Yea, planning to do that like this !!!! Thats why i said i dont want software, but to start i would like the waveforms.

Yes - if you plug the output of the Beatmix into the DJM-700, you can use the DJM effects on that signal.

But the flaw with that method is that you can only apply the effects to the whole mix, not individual channels.

You would also be using two mixers. The Beatmix and the DJM.

Plus it means you cannot record the DJM effects in VDJ, unless you feed the output of the DJM back into your computer with a cable.

It would be better to use a controller (or two) that has no mixer (i.e. Denon SC2000) and send each VDJ deck out to its own channel of the DJM.

Or use two CDJ-2000s with Rekordbox and forget about the Beatmix & VDJ.

u can even buy a mixer that records straight onto usb
