Hello everyone,
I am preparing a tracklist for my first performance at a club, can anyone tell me approximately how many tracks do I need for a 4 hour performance?

How long is a piece of string? :-)
The amount of tracks you'll need to fill X hours depends on how long you play each track.
Simple maths. Four hours = 240 minutes. At six minutes per song that's 40 songs. 6 = 1/10 of 60 (1hr) so 4hrs = 40 x 6 min songs.
If you only play three minutes of each song, you'll need 80 songs.
But - the amount of time you'll play each song will vary. Not just because the song is longer or shorter, but because of the tempo of the song, the arrangement (how long the intro is, where the break is) and so on.

A little late on this post, but IMHO more is better,, when I do a tracklist for a dance let's say and it's a 4 hour gig, I'll put 6 hrs of music into the list, like it was stated, you won't play everything on that list in the planned order, flexibility is what is needed (and you probably know that) at least that's how it's been in my experience
