Hi all,
Just added a new filter effect for PC & Mac users.
It's nothing fancy, just a very simple decent sounding (IMHO) filter.
It has a single frequency slider, and a few buttons:
Reset: Resets filter to 50% (ie no filter)
Preset 1-4: Recall preset positions
Save: When enabled the preset buttons will save rather than recall
http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/16287/filter_sbdj.html
Map a knob to something like this:
effect 'filter_sbdj' active on & effect 'filter_sbdj' slider 1
Regards,
Scott

interesting to play with already. just clicking back and forth on the presets after a quick save and instantly made windows vibrate. niiiice.

that sounds really nice Scott! not sure why the presets are needed though?

They aren't really IMHO; they were just something someone asked for during testing. Since it was 30 seconds to add them I did it anyway!

For anyone wanting to use this as a filter replacement, say on a controller filter knob:
That will control the filter, and deactivate it when the filter knob is centered. It will however change the currently selected effect to the filter. If you wish to avoid this, try:
The 9 is just a spare effect slot that probably isn't used on most skins.
On skins with a single effect slot - like the default skins - you may find the skin changes the effect to the filter. You can fix this by changing the skin slightly.
Change %maineffect in the skin to %effectslot1
Then change all the effect commands to use slot 1, for example:
Change "deck 1 effect active" to "deck 1 effect 1 active"
Change "deck 2 effect active" to "deck 2 effect 1 active"
Change "deck 1 effect select" to "deck 1 effect 1 select"
Change "deck 2 effect select" to "deck 2 effect 1 select"
Change "deck 1 effect slider 1" to "deck 1 effect 1 slider 1"
Change "deck 1 effect slider 2" to "deck 1 effect 1 slider 2"
Change "deck 2 effect slider 1" to "deck 2 effect 1 slider 1"
Change "deck 2 effect slider 2" to "deck 2 effect 1 slider 2"
Skins with multiple slots aren't likely to be effected as they will already be using numbered slots.
effect select "filter_sbdj" & param_greater 49% ? param_smaller 51% ? effect "filter_sbdj" active off : effect "filter_sbdj" slider 1 & effect "filter_sbdj" active on : effect "filter_sbdj" slider 1 & effect "filter_sbdj" active on

Greetings SBDJ ... As might assign this effect to the filter knob for pioneer ddj sx? I mean remove the default filter and put this in place.

SBDJ, very nice filter!
Can you make another version of the same filter where the slider will be controlled by effect slider 2 instead of effect slider 1?

Great but, can you put some resonance?
Mensajes Wed 23 Oct 13 @ 5:26 am
Updated to v1.1.
A few minor tweaks and the addition of controllable resonance.

v1.2 now available rather quickly as I noticed a memory leak I introduced into v1.1. This version fixes that and also brings with it a tiny performance improvement.
