Does anyone know if TEXT2D works with VD8? when I try to apply+Activate I keep getting this message.. DIRECT3D IS NOT INITIALIZED.. please help. or does anybody knows any other plugin that works with with VD8 and do text?

It works for me. It may not be perfect, but it works. Try installing the latest version of DirectX. Look here
