Whereas :
- You posted a 4:3 ratio screen capture
- You have an option to "maintain display scaling"

I would think wicked was on the good way here :

some video cards allow the desktop to be larger then the screen resolution and they scroll around a bit to reach that size.

Any chance your screen could scroll and you didn't even notice it ?

Sorry for my ignorance on this.
I don't see anything about a 4:3 ratio screen capture.
Did find "maintain display scaling" which was on.
I definitely cannot scroll the screen image in VDJ.
I'm sure you can tell by now I really am not that computer savvy.
Any other suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks

You won't see anything. What FRUiT means is that the image you posted looks like it's a 4:3 screen ratio (i.e. not widescreen). If your laptop truly is 1920x1080 then it will be 16:9 ratio which is widescreen. It's like the difference between old TV sets and new ones. Old ones (and old broadcasts) were 4:3 and fairly square, whereas new TV and broadcasts are all widescreen 16:9.

I reckon your issue is down to this new Windows scaling feature. In order to show a 1920x1080 skin correctly on a 1920x1080 screen, any scaling needs to be off - so the screen and the skin are 1:1.

If really Wicked is right, it would not be only VDJ that scrolls, but your entire desktop, and this ability would be managed by either windows / your graphic card. You may even have special keys on your keyboard (possibly triggered by the 'Fn' key) to manage this feature.

A last request, can you post a picture of your comp, showing it just as if we were looking an ad and wanted to buy this one (so, showing the screen as well as the keyboad as well as the overall look of it).

Aha - so it's a Q502LA, not a Q5027LA!

Some sites say it's 1366x768 and others 1920x1080. Going by screen size, I'd be inclined to think it's 1366x768 as things would look pretty small at 1920x1080 on a 15.6" screen.

Sorry!! Q5027LA is what asus people told me.
When I click on screen resolution it shows as in picture. 1920x1080.
I did not see where you found different resolution. Probably because I
don't where else to look.
I did mess with changing the resolution, did not get very far.
Do you think I should change the resolution to what you found?
Forgot to mention I found scaling; but there is no option to change it.

It should be fairly easy to find the actual resolution, even if you don't know it.

Running at the wrong res will result in a blurry image. When set to the correct resolution, you should find that things look much sharper.

Some sites may be wrong. Most of them pretend it to be 15,4'' 1920x1080 full HD, where the Q302LA would be 13,3'' 1366x768 HD only. However, looking at the pictures it seems to be a 16:9 screen.

@Bogart, please can you post different captures showing various skins, at least :

- Another one showing a 1920x1080 skin
- One showing a 1366x768 skin
- One @ 1024x768

Also, could you please upload those pics on http://www.tinypic.com and not post directly the pictures here so we can see them in their true real size.

really difficult to find dependable specs for that laptop.

most of the sites that even list screen res say it is 1366x768.

but really its hard to say since there is conflicting information and i can't find it on Asus site the resolution. pretty fishy if u ask me.

probably best to upload those screen shots like fruit says and maybe we can see.

Never used tinypic. Let me give it a try.
Only problem is whenever a skin is too big for the screen; I need to turn off
computer in order to exit VDJ.
Appreciate all the help.

if u use key combination "alt + f4" it should kill vdj without rebooting

You said you're using VDJ 7.4

Are you getting warning messages from VDJ that the skin is the wrong size for your screen?

Was the screen resolution set to correspond to the skin size in these pictures?

I think we need to see a shot of the resolution set to 1920x1080 with a skin that is 1024x768 that is not cropped and shows entire desktop.

The images I see lead me to believe yor resolution was not set to 1920x1080 when you made those shots.

Screen size on system was at 1920x1080 for these.
When I did this I copied the screen of vdj into paint in order to save it and send.
That is why it is only shots of the program.
Another thing is in the on screen text in desktop is small. If I change the resolution to 1366x768
text is larger and clearer.
Let me try again.

This is a shot of desktop
Cannot get one with vdj open and desktop together.

Mensajes Thu 28 Aug 14 @ 8:34 am
Bogart if you use 1024x768 skin can u see all of the vdj window?

No it is still too large for system screen.
Only way I can get skin to be on VDJ correctly is to change
screen resolution to 1366x768.
Even at that I cannot get VDJ & desktop on same screen. Probably there
is a way of doing it, but I just can't seem to get it.

Here is one with VDJ & desktop.
I had to change resolution in order to change to a smaller skin in VDJ.
Then went back and put screen resolution to original.
Then opened VDJ again and this is it.
Hope you can understand what I am trying to say, this is crazy.
Thank you
