I've been corresponding with the maker of Glitch2
http://illformed.com/glitch/
discussing what's needed to get Glitch2 fully working with VDJ and it all boils down VDJ not being the best VST host
Transport events being one issues
And the big other big deal is saving/loading plugin settings from inside VDJ
Could a plugin be made to get VDJ to tell the VST what it needs to know? Deal with VST saving plugin?

It may say that it's a VST effect, but actually since it requires midi notes input it uses VSTi (VST instrument) engine.

The question stands, could a VDJ plugin be used for better VST hosting?

Is VDJ 8 up to date with its VST hosting? Latest SDK (2011) appears to be VST 3.5
BTW someone might want to add some info about VSTs to the Virtual DJ Wikipedia page and add VDJ to the list of hosts on the VST Wikipedia page.
(if we can't convice Atomix to mention VST in the manual or the software GUI, then at least it can be added to Wikipedia!)

VST 2.5 or 2.6 I believe groovin
Further to this, a slight niggle I have with V8 and VSTs is when you load a VST gui the focus (keyboard) jumps on to the VST gui, which means I have to click off the VST gui to get keyboard commands working again.
I can't see how this makes sense for how they are used, maybe it makes sense for midi controllers, maybe not.
obviously it's just part of how o/s's work but wouldn't it be better if the focus didn't switch or switched & switched back?
I'm honestly not sure if this idea has complications or not so throw your oar in.

I too have been having issues with VST's not saving/loading the changes. At first I assumed it was the vst plugins but after I emailed the creator, I was informed it is an SDK issue with VDJ software and not the VST's?
That is above my knowledge.
I notice each VST saves an .ini file from vdj with settings, and those do indeed hold all changes. However, upon restarting vdj, those changes are ignored when the plugin is loaded and defaults are again in place :(
I am using vst's on the Master.
Will there be a fix for this in an update so vdj 8 will use the changes I make?
Thx for your time.

Just to add to this, any VST I have that can save user presets work fine and allow me to load the presets from the GUI.
I am talking about VST's with no user option to save user changes. However, I am informed the changes made should hold upon next use of those said plugins. But, in VDJ 8, it is not the case.
