Is it possible to have the sampler displayed as a dock? Like effects parameters? I am messing with the idea of setting up a small 9" preview monitor to display certain things.

In VDJ 8 things like the sampler or browser etc. can be put in "windows" that open separately to the main skin and are not attached.

They can be moved around and resized, or indeed dragged to other screens.

It would have to be specifically coded into whatever skin you're using.

Unfortunately there are a few bugs with the code that have been there since launch & are still not fixed - but it's reasonably workable.
 
Using the stock 4 deck skin.

Will that work?
 
Wait a dang minute!!! I can dock the sampler?!?!

If you go to the VDJ 8 skin SDK page in the wiki and scroll right to the end, you'll see what currently exists as "instructions". :-)

Adding windows to existing skins is fairly easy to do once you know how. See here and follow the link in my post at the end to see an example.
 
Might be a little more than I can chew at this time! Just getting the hang of mapping!
 
Fortunately there are others who are adept at chewing!
 
Doing my best to try and figure things out on my own before asking. And also trying to answer others questions if I can. Don't just want to take from the community and give nothing back.

Once I have all these controllers issues sorted out, this may be the next step.
