In VDJ8 I keep getting a pop up saying "VirtualDJ automatic updated failed, do you want to try again?" and my options are either yes or no. If I click yes - it'll keep failing. I'm connected to the internet and its happening on two separate builds on two different laptops. I'm also logged in.

There is a VirtualDJ8 process running. Kill it from the Task Manager or restart PC
