In VDJ 7 when loading a track it tries to auto set the gain, but in vdj8 even though in settings i have gain set to auto and remember, the gain always remains at the 12 o'clock position. Tried to track the same in both versions, adjusts in version 7 but not version 8
Do i need to rescan all my tracks for bpm again in vdj 8

The "12 o'clock gain control" thing is a VDJ 8 quirk.
It's really only the position of the marker on the knob that's at 12 o'clock. The actual gain amount is still changed automatically by VDJ if required. It just looks as if it's not!
There is a a config setting to disable this "feature" if you find it confusing/annoying.

What to disable it remaining at the 12 o,clock?
what setting is that?
Setting gainsliderincludesautogain to NO allows the gain control to move on track selection. Is that not back to front so to speak?

By default the gain slider already includes autogain, so that 12'o clock position is normalized volume. Especially for controllers this is much more convenient, since you don't have to check the screen to know what is the default volume.
