Tema: FLAC and Limiter problems in latest build?

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Using v8 b4787, which appears to be the latest and greatest version. Using a Pioneer DDJ-SX2 controller for control and audio output. I've been using it for over a year and have been very happy so far.

With this version, I seem to have two new errors. I wonder if they are new bugs in this version? Here's what I see:

1) The autoGain doesn't seem to work properly anymore. I have it set to Auto. I am getting some tracks with extreme volume changes that slam into the red and make clipping clicks when played through the main output of the DDJ-SX2. I have to use the trim to pull them down quite a lot.
2) The Limiter doesn't seem to work. I used to be very generous. Now the light never goes on and it clicks. I don't think I've adjusted any of those settings. Is there a setting for that?

And most oddly:
3) I recorded a set today that was 2 hours 30 minutes long. I recorded it as FLAC. I've done this for over a year. This time, however, there seems to be something wrong with the file. No matter what I load it in, it shows just 27 minutes of audio. I've used Audacity, WinAmp, and VLC. THey report no errors. The file is 800 MB, so it all seems to be there.
When I load it in VDJ, it seems to see it all, but in segments. The beats seem to be encoded in there somehow. It seems to have cue marks for all my mix points. I am wondering if VDJ is putting in some strange optional FLAC things that nobody else can understand? Is this a new feature?
In the end, the only way I could get my music out was to load it into VDJ and play it, then record the output in real time to Audacity.

Are these bugs or new features in the latest build? Are there new settings to fix these? Or is it just me?

Thanks,
DJ Tantari

Huh. I tried it again with a 2 hour set and then with a 1.5 minute test. Both had problems loading in other programs but load great in VDJ. I tried Winamp, VLC, and the latest Audacity.

What are you using to load your FLAC up after your set?

Did VirtualDJ always have the ability to save 16 bit FLAC files, or is this a new feature? What did it save in before?

I switched it to 24 bit and my various programs seem to like it now. WinAmp, VLC, and Audacity seem to be happy with it. This is only a 2 minute sample, but still, it's progress. I'll save my next live set and see what happens.

Is 16 bit a weird depth for FLAC? Do most program expect 24 bit FLAC? This could explain it.

I'll keep testing.
