Dear folks,
I know a lot has been written about this, nevertheless still can't quite get the thing working.
I'm using VDJ v.8.5-64.
Struggling to get the sound out to the headphones on Automix (or Sidelist) while decks are playing out on external amp.
I am using an external Creative Sound Blaster. My preference would go (BY FAR) to having the amp connected to the external Sound Blaster, and my headphone directly to the laptop.
Any tips please???
Thanks in advance

Pro or Performance, if I understand the question properly.
Laptop -> Ext. Soundcard -> amplifier
Laptop -> headphone

you don't need 2 masters and 2 headphones outputs
it is very possible your sound card disables standard outputs when you use the optical output.
probably need to consult the manufacture to be sure, but that is the most likely scenario.
the reason that happens is the optical output can carry many channels instead of just 2.

...but I'm not using the optical output of the soundcard.
As a matter of fact, I can get headphone output when playing from e.g deck 3, but I would like to play tracks from the Automix (or Sidelist) into my headphone.
Is that possible at all?
Thx in advance

Master : SPDIF OUT : chan 1&2
that is usually an optical out or a single RCA out with a digital signal
you referenced it in you audio config you posted?
just set the master output to your headphones then if you only want the output to go there.

try:
Master = Creative Sound Blaster : chan 1&2
(for the amp)
Headphone = Realtek Audio WASAPI : chan 1&2
(for the headphone)
&
4 the Automix (or Sidelist) into your headphone use the "prelisten player"
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@WICKEDMIX
Yes SPDIF is my laptop's output into the external Soundcard, indeed.
If I set Master to headphone driver, then I won't be able to hear from Soundcard -> Amp.

@WOLLEROSEKAUF
Getting close here, thx!
How can I enable the Prelisten feature ?
I think the answer is there.
