Tema: Video Over Video Question
Hello, I’m new to using Virtual DJ I’ve always used Serato DJ Pro, but I want to give this software a chance. I am a VDJ and I mix using music videos. In Serato DJ you can play a music video on one deck and replace only the video while continuing to play just the audio. All you need to do is drag the new video you want to use over the video window on the deck where you want to replace the video while keeping the audio going.

Can I do the same thing in Virtual DJ? I apologize if I haven't explained myself clearly. Thanks in advance.

Yes you can do that, drag the video to the decks preview window and it should work.

If the video preview isn't on screen you can drag your chosen video over the cover art of the song on deck and it will offer "link video" option.

Thank you guys, it worked by placing the video over the artwork. However, the video only plays a 2-second clip and then loops. Do I need to make any additional settings to play the entire video that I inserted? Thanks I really appreciate your help.

Give us a bit more info about the Video you tried to link. File-type, length

The original video that is playing is a song with an approximate duration of 3:00 minutes. The video I’m trying to insert as a replacement is about 1:00 minute long and is a video animation with photos. When I insert the video to replace the original, the audio continues to play without any issues, but the video with the photos loops for about two seconds and stay there. Both videos are in mp4 format, thanks for your help.

The automatic link tries to match the audio of the video with the audio of the track (so you can use a music video on extended tracks or remixes)
If there's no music that will indeed not work. Instead you can right-click the video and open the Video Editor, and in there add the animation.

For things like this I would re-record it until I was happy. The Performance | Video skin is perfect because you can control both decks video and audio separately. Once recorded you don't have to worry about it again. Make sure if you use VideoLogo that it's off for the recording.
