Dear Virtualdj team,
I've been having such a terrible time recently and quite scary. Thankfully I've got some back ups.
Basically on occasions when I saved virtualdj either via database back up or saving folder my cuepoints database was wiped. I have got no idea why. This definitely scared me. Have you got any explanation why this has been happening to me?
I'd also like to ask what is better between doing regular database back-ups or saving the entire Virtualdj folder on my USB drive?
Please help me overcome this problem as it is terrifying.
Thank-you
Jav

Usually if the database can not be found [so appears blank] it's a case that a vdj process didn't close correctly and hasn't release the database, first thing to check is task manager way down the list, close all instances of vdj there and then try open the app again.

Loco I have one question. Is it better to save virtualdj database via the backup facility or saving the entire folder on my USB drive?

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my goodness I'm having the same problem as last week. My virtualdj database has went completely blank. I'm completely convinced that it's not reading the database back-ups I've made properly as half of my cuepoints songs aren't there. I've tried restarting my PC and still the same thing. What should I do?

When you close Virtual DJ, it should save the live copy of the database. That can take a bit of time depending on its size and the computer and disk. The backup process is something different - Virtual DJ can take a copy of the database and write it somewhere else as a backup.
It’s the first process that can cause the database to appear blank if it doesn’t finish writing the database.
That’s my understanding of how it works.

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy I've got the database back again. Something weird happened seriously. Do you think I should store multiple back-ups in this situation?

It’s generally a good idea to retain multiple backups and delete them after a time that you feel comfortable with.

So you suggest just to frequently back up the database through it's facility instead of copying the entire folder on my usb? Please confirm one last time

I’m probably not the best to ask as I just take copies of my databases and settings files (I have all my media on a second internal drive so there’s a second database in its \VirtualDJ folder). So that works for me. Others like the program’s built-in backup facilities, which were introduced to make backups easier for people.
