When I turn my gain down on my rane performer the gain on my laptop doesn’t turn down. Wondering why they aren’t in sync. The nob on the board is turning and working on virtual but the signal of the song doesn’t turn down. When I load a song most songs are clipping on the laptop but not on the board. Just wondering why when I go to turn my gain down on the board why it’s not doing it on the laptop

What you describing sounds like expected behaviour.
The mixer on the Rane Performer is all external to the software - the controls control that mixer's operation and not the computer, so even if you selected the computer as the soundcard to use, those controls will not affect the output of your computer's soundcard.
Summary = what you see on the laptop doesn't really matter (control positions may or may not be reflected). What you see on and hear from the device itself is what matters.
