Tópico: Re tag videos.
Hi, apologies if this has been covered but can't find anything I'm looking for.
Transferred my library on to a new SSD external drive to be used on new laptop. This is my back up and is Windows machine but my gig laptop is MacBook.
I've spent years retagging them on VDJ but obviously the original tagging remains on the drive and shows on VDJ on the new laptop. eg Bananarama - Venus (Dario Caminita Remix) (Clean) (Extended) (HD)
Where do I find software to retag my library and reduce above tag above to "Bananarama - Venus (1886)
Is it possible?
I had a look at Mp3tag and a few others but the " (Clean) (Extended) (HD)" is included in the title and can't be removed!
Some were done years ago but I have over 10,000 videos to retag.
Any software packages out there that can do what I require?
Thank you

So any tagger that has a scriptable interface will do.

I personally just wrote a thin python wrapper script, around kid3-cli, that, among other things, takes a command line option to read the title tag and clean it up based on a certain way I want it to look (e.g. remove " (HD)" and " - 1080", change "(Extended)" to "(Video Extended)", etc). Kid3's manual gives an example of how you could go about doing this (just basically calling out to kid3-cli via subprocess to read and write tags)

Nowadays, you can pretty much get ChatGPT or other LLM based chat coding agent to write the wrapper for you.

No matter what you do though, you'll have to makr VirtualDJ aware of the tags by reloading them from within VirtualDJ.
