The latest Mojaxx video for DJCity HERE talks about the confusing pricing options of various DJ software, but VDJ gets positive comments - although he does point out (in a comment below the video) that AI images are being used on this site to advertise the software.

Just curious though - what's wrong with using AI images on the site?
I ask because I'm not really sure what that has to do with the functionality of the software itself (sounds like nitpicking at something that doesn't really matter in the end).

"One thing I meant to point out, but forgot… at 04:09 you can see DREADFUL ai generated images on the Virtual DJ site. You’re one of the most popular DJ apps in the world! Use pictures of your customers!"
I can understand, because they do tend to get used by the likes of Temu/Etsy trying to sell you something that looks premium in the AI images, but is actually cheap & nasty, and nothing like the pictured product.
Look up AI shopping scams on YouTube.
I'm sure you're aware of the flak that VirtualDJ gets for the "Virtual" part of the name.
Using AI images to advertise it will surely just add fuel to the fire i.e. "Look they can't find any pictures of real DJs using it" etc.

(I guess it's just viewpoint but) choice of using AI visuals should not be conflated with the product being cheap because it has nothing to do with what the product does.
The AI visuals don't even show up on the home page - there are pictures of real DJs on the home page giving testimonials. They also have a full youtube page of Pros using the software.
If you look at competing products pages - DJay pro (at the time of this writing) pretty much the same (a simple page with only DJay Angelo app other popular DJs appearing as users in a list) and other popular DJs showing up on a DJ school page (which is promotional, not really saying if they use it fulltime or not).
Native Instruments has no one on their Traktor page.
Serato and Rekorbox have the most appearance of popular DJs (for obvious reasons).
It's not that the page can't be revamped - it definitely can, but when I see people nitpicking at a website of a product not because of useability/navigation/lack of info issues, but because of AI visuals, I see someone searching for an issue/trying to distract from the actual offering/problems, instead of pointing out critical problems that should be fixed to remain competitive as a platform, and for me personally, that's all he seems to be doing in his recent videos when it comes to the platform.
PS: The point he made about Home Users - that's a real issue that probably needs some thought, although I thought they pulled the watermark from recordings.

Well yes it would be nice if people (not just Mojaxx) didn't have issues with AI images (along with AI videos, AI voiceovers etc) but simple fact is, they do - and I can see their point.
It would be simple to use/edit a stock image instead, or have a teamer take a photo of a real person.

Not the same but people in my city wont even show up to a party if the fliers are AI generated. And some wont even take a flier if they suspect its created by AI.
Weve ditched Ai for flier creation because of it.

Quite sure those pictures have been there a long time though, and as we know the website is kinda neglected in general.
Fair point to on the use of AI posters for advertising though, usually means the venue is cheap and tacky as a rule of thumb. Several clubs here never spend anything on promotion, it's just social media and crap looking posts clearly knocked up for free.

So I think the real beef is with whether the visuals look professional or not (however you define "professional looking"), not specifically whether or not AI was used to make the visuals.
In this modern time of graphic design, I'm almost positive that professionals are using AI for some part of their work (even if it's background removal or generation of a subcomponent), because if you don't you will end up losing to the professionals who do. What really matters is that has to meet the professional look criteria (what you've pointed out is amateur use that is obviously detectable).
