You guys offer your great help and assistance so heres my 2pence worh.
I've used Atomix with these combinations:
Soundblaster AWE64
SoundBlaster 16
Results: You will notice on the SB16 that bass is weak on one of the channels. You will not notince this using headphones but in a professional DJ AMP you can tell the differences.
2 x AWE64 Cards:
Results: Hissing occurs on one card. Played about with all setting but with no joy.
I'm at the moment trying
1 x SB Audigy Card (has rear and front channels) and I really hope that this will work. If anyone has had any experince with, I'd appreciate your comments.
Gotta get it going for a gig I got on Saturday.

Actually, after installed the Audigy - it's a very good card, it applies cool reverb effects to all your mp3's which makes it sound very professional (just like concert sound). There is not distortion and the drivers are very well written.
