If you're trying to reinstall VDJ onto a new hard drive, you have to make sure that your machine is connected to the internet...whether it's registered or not...otherwise nothing will work.
I've had the same problem with hard drives and all that...and the way to solve the serial thing is to be connected to the net.
Unless i've missed something???
