Hi,

The jogwheels on the Hercules console are quite sensitive.
I'd only like to use them to position a song (and disable them while the deck is playing on the amplifier)
Problem now is when you're not very careful you end up scratching when you just want to use the stick or push some buttons....
Any ideas guys ?

thanks

Open VDJ choose SET (Config)->Remote Control.
Uncheck USE JOGS TO SCRATCH.

Additionaly you can choose a skin with the Nudge or Sractch button on the decks, e.g.
Pioneer CDJ 700S
Remiskin
DJ Console
-then you can switch to N or S at will.

I already unchecked the "jogs to scratch" option.
This reduces the problem but not completely as you can still accidentally turn the jogs....
(no scratching but "repositioning"..)

Can you completely disable a jog with those skins ?
thanks

I don't think that's possible, you can only have the console ON or OFF, and then you have the option to map/re-map functions, In this case you may be able to turn them completely off or not.

Your observation is quite right though, It's the way they work with the software, too sensitive, I've requested a user controlled bar in the settings menu, that allows you to choose your prefferd sensitivity level, but It hasn't been implemented, I'm hopeing with the new console they'll do that or at least make them less sensitive..

Maybe a good suggestion for the next version of Virtual DJ....
(to have a keyboard shortcut to enable/disable the jogwheel)

Everybody in favor say aaaaay :)

I've heard of too-much-sensitive (well... self-moving i may say..) jog wheels only about old versions of the DJ Console (bulk 1, 2) not with bulk 3. Check your version.

Ciao!! :)

check your version...
And... if it's bulk 1 or 2 and you're pretty sure they're faulty, contact the Guillemot/Hercules support.
they've been very good at fixing faulty units (or exchanging for new ones)

good luck.

Speary,

I returned mine a year after I got it. Check the version. If it is the old versin hercules will send you a new one free. Go to their web site and create a ticket. They will send you back to the place you purchased it from. You will probably need your receipt. Send it back to them and they will send you a new one.
