Tema: need help on Minimum Requirements

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Hi guys. Been awhile since I posted but here I am. I would like to know what the minimum requirements are for a laptop based mobile system. I know the sound end of it should be a minimum of around 300 watts, rms a side if in stereo, but what about the laptop?. Whats the requirements for a laptop? Is there cooling problems using a laptop? And what about using the laptop and a mixer and no CDs? Will that cause a problem? What type of sound card works best? There will be a ton more questions I need answered I am sure, but in the meantime it would be nice for me to get some feed back on this issue.
Thanks in advance

Laptop... Pentium 4 or AMD64 (Not Turion or Pentium M). 512MB RAM or more (If you want to play videos). If you want to use AtomixMP3 only, you could run with a 256MB PIII notebook without a problem.

Cooling Problems, only if the laptop isn't weell designed.

Mixer and Laptop. No problem, you could use this set or even with CDs if you want to. Only need a soundcard 5.1 or better.

Best Soundcard.- Some users use 2; one Audigy 2 NX (USB) and one Maya 44 USB. Maya 44 USB is the best for TCVs or TCCDs with laptop use. If you couldn't find the Creative USB try PCMCIA http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=1&subcategory=204&product=10769
This card will provide you good excelent sound at afortable price with use for AtomixMP3 or VirtualDJ in 7.1 to use it with or without a mixer and with or without a second sound card (like Maya 44 USB) If you will use ONLY this card you can not use TCVs or TCCDs because it has not 2 LINE inputs which are necesary for TCV use.

For TCVs or TCCDs:
If you want THE BEST use M-Audio FireWire 1814. http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/FireWire1814-main.html

Or you could use the E-MU 1616 from Creative Professional Series. http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=237&subcategory=239&product=13554

Good Luck!

Thanks acw....I think my friend has it thought out and has it fixed. He is going to get a usb external sound card and hook up his second card that way. He has me convinced to do the same thing. Both of us have external hard drives to carry our tunes on, so this just may work out fine....again....thanks.
