Tema: Maya44USB Soundcard

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Just bought a Maya44USB soundcard (two stereo inputs and outputs) and can't figure out if it can be used with VDJ also (on output side). I am utilizing it for another program and sometimes switch to VDJ or use VDJ instead. On the USB Gigaport the channels for an external mixer come out 1,2 and 5,6. I can only utilize 1,2 on the Maya and can't get 3,4 to work. Is there something I can do or can vdj force sound to come out of 1,2 and 3,4 in a future update for these sondcards? I think it would be easier for them anyway. SOOOOOO much better with an external mixer. Thanks for the help and keep up the good work....

Maybe you should try to check the 7.1 option in the audio settings.
Not sure this will work with your Maya but it could...

We are waiting for your feedback :)

K-

It didn't work. Here is what happened. I have both a gigaport and a MayaUSB44 soundcard (not at the same time of course) The Maya continue to play on channels 1,2 either way. Just the left player (on the computer is louder). The gigaport has both channels lit up. You know 1,2 3,4. That looked like it was going to work but, no. Both the right player and left player came out of 1,2 and the right player came out of 3,4 instead of 5,6 now. If somehow they can get you to choose which to play like PCDJ that would be awesome!

Any news about this issue ?
Is this card plug and play ?, showing ''usb audio'' when connected ?
If yes it is the microsoft driver (included in windows xp)
that only support basic -usb-audio (2in/2out)
This is the case for the Maya Ex currently i own.
(I know the asio part of the Maya 44 usb card need setup for the asio driver and it offer 4in/4out for asio applications.)

I also can tell you that i asked this in the Audiotrak forum,
some months ago (maybe a year..!)
and the told me that multichannel support
for wdm was planned in the next driver release, but as i saw
in their site yesterday it still says :
2in/2out for wdm, 4in/4out for asio !!

I'm thinking to buy this card for use with another software
like you (and also for multitrack recording with my laptop),
but i also want to see it working with Virtual dj, in the case
i upgrade to the full version in the future (dj console for now)

Let me know if you have any news.

These are good news !
Can you try it now ?,
and how is the latency in asio mode ?

I have a hercules console and v2.0 vdj.

it doesn't work in ASIO-mode. I still cannot understand, because v2.0 should support ASIO.

when i start vdj 2.0 while the console is in ASIO-mode, i get an error like there is something wrong with direct-x.

when i put it back in DJ-mode, vdj runs just fine.

maybe there IS ASIO-support, but not for Hercules :(

You have to install the drives. Go to the MAYA Web site and run the setup utility and this and the gigaport works great!

Hi Vantinedj,

it has been a while since the release of 2.02.
I have got a Maya EX 5.1 without Asio-drivers

i bought official Asio-drivers for 50 eruo at www.usbaudio.com they work fine with channels 1 and 2 but there is no output at 3,4,5 and 6 in VDJ in asio-mode.

audioquality itself is superb.

if this issue is not going to be solved, i will have to sell my Maya EX and buy something else which is supported by VDJ using at least 4 channels of ASIO-quality.

i really want to use ASIOdrivers because of its audioquailty, even lower latency and stability.

and.. i'm selling my Hercules console (i bought one of those shiny XP10s)

any recomandations regarding external soundcards (ASIO2.0+VDJ) ??

I didn't try it but it should work with usbaudio.com driver,
look at the control pannel, i think there must be a setting to enable 4+4, 5+6 outputs.
If you have trouble, try the -FREE- and amazing www.asio4all.com driver.
It can work with all outputs with ... 1.5ms latency..
Tried it with cubase, vdj, mixvibes, traktor.

I have a maya EX usb and - i will sell it- tonight because it is like the dj console (as a soundcard).
Same options : (2in 6outs / 5.1),
Same limitations : Locked to 48 Khz.
Note: asio4all driver can do resample on the fly (44-->48)

I will buy a maya 44 usb instead (will work on 44/48k)
(4in/4outs in asio) for mobile audio recording and dj programs.

thanx apopsis! that's useful info.

i didn't know that channelsettings of the asiodriver could be adjusted in the controlpanel.

i'm gonna try it out tonight ;)

about the MayaEX, is it that bad that the clock is locked at 48Khz??

sounds strange that it would be loacked at 48khz that would make it only sound properly for a few programs out there,
the thing is that if it is locked at 48khz every song will sound as if it has been speed up bu about 15% = bad (in vdj that is as it outputs at 44.1khz)
there must be a way to change the output rate in the control pannel for the soundcard somwhere.
it would be great though it vdj supported 48khz and 96 aswell...

about the 48khz.
You know most of the songs (and audio cd's-"red book" standart) are recorded in 44khz.
Many cheap commercial sound cards including the sound blaster live and audigy series for $$$ reasons are locked internal to 48k.
This means that every time you play a song with a different
sample rate, there must be a real time "SRC" (sample rate conversion) to hear the song in the right speed.
This can be done either by software (driver) either by hardware (sound blasters). It is not a trouble free task.
It can cause problems like: lost of sync, affect the latency,
and the sound quality.
This is why these cards are not recommended for any serious
audio/midi or recording applications.
For example the #1 problem for live/audigy owners when using
cubase is the lost of audio/midi sync.
In the other hand, proffesional -and NOT more
expensive...- soundcards (M-Audio, Esi, etc..) can change their internal clock from the driver or control pannel.

A little theory to help you understand some things..
