I rip all of my music from 256bps to 320bps using EAC, however, when I go into "File Info" in VDJ to review my tag info it shows the song being recognized at 128bps.
My questions to the community is it showing this way because VDJ can only play songs at 128bps?.
Does it downgrade the MP3 someway?
It hasn't hurt my sound quality from what I can tell but I was curious if anyone else noticed this situation.

It's just the way VDJ reads the file, but it does NOT affect the quality of how it's played back, this is also the case with VBR files, but a CBR will be displayed as it is, up to 320kbps.
I remember asking for this to be changed so even VBR's and other formats get their true average kbps displayed.
so, VDJ sees them as 128kbps but plays them as they are.
Bagpuss.

VDJ reads my files correctly. What ever I rip at(320kbps), that's what shows up in "file info". Maybe I am misreading this post.

Most file types yes, reads them perfectly, but VBR mp3s iit always gives 128kbps, and this is why I'm gathering it's the same for some other file formats/tyes.

Bagpuss,
That explains it. All my files are VBR.
Thanks

I didn't notice before... All my VBR 192Kbps files show: Bitrate: 48, Freq: 44100, joint-stereo
The are played with excelent quality in VDJ. But they are dsplayed in this way.
