iv got hercules dj control mp3 (version 3.1 djconsole) how can i prelisten to music through headphones and play music through speakers. iv got a laptop with internal and a external soundcard. cheers

choose the external card as your sound card
with headphone mode
assign one channel as main , and one as headphones
then hold down the headphone preview button to hear the deck you wish
note if you want longer preview you will need pro
which allows you to depress it once to turn it on and again to turn it off

but wen i go in to config and select sound card it wont let me change anything its just got 'only in pro'

on the mp3 control console
half way on the console you will see a white button with a symbol of headphones on each side this is th button :)

wen i click on config its got loads of options 'skins', 'sound card' ect.... and wen i select soundcard it comes up a list of pictures like headphones or speakers ect.... but all of them have ONLY AVILABLE IN PRO crossed through them!!! and u cant click on them. appriate the help

Your free console version supports ONE soundcard.
To prelisten that ONE Soundcard needs to be a 4.1/5.1 soundcard, where you have main out at channel1 and prelisten at rear out.
If you dont have such a card, you can get a cheap usb surround card, will work fine :)

iv got a laptop with a realtek high definition audio soundcard and iv just bought an external soundcard (creative sb audigy 2 wbm) its got an optical in and out socket.
