I have my laptop set up for a 37" LCD Monitor to show videos....I can only see VDJ when I "grab" the top and move it all the way off my laoptop screen, then it appears on my 37" monitor.......how can I see them "BOTH" at the same time???
Im sure its a windows setting or something simple

You need to set your display settings to DUAL mode - NOT CLONE Mode.
This will give you 2 discrete displays, 1 for the VDJ interface and 1 for showing video (37" Monitor) - Also look here for the answer to your other question -
