The version of Virtual DJ you have is equivalent to economy seats on a jumbo. You don't get a lot of leg room and there is no free champagne.

and pro edition is V4
pro skins will only work on version 4

Can you tune the XML of a version 4 skin to work in version 3 so we can enjoy the quality of the new skins too

no it relies on features non existant in v3 .

It is possible to downgrade skins, but it would require re-writing the XML file almost from scratch. There would also need to be some adjustments in the graphics file.
In short, it would take almost as long as writing a new skin, hence the skin creators not wanting to do it.
Also, as the skins are locked to pro users you would need a pro license to download them. Would you still want to mod the skins after buying the license and being able to then use them in their full capacity since you would then be the proud owner of V4.3 with all the fancy bits of the skins working for you?
