hey was just wondering iam buying a sony vaio and it has a built in sound card does this work well what connection do i need to connect my laptop to my mixer through this soundcard if i have the sound card can i connect it to the mixer and be able to listen through headfones aswell how does that work sorry prob a stupid qeustions but iam kinda confuse thanks

the answer is simple :yes you can use an external mixer and prelisten each channel you want
you just need an 5.1 soundcard. i dont know if vaio has 5.1 built in soundcard
but you can get one usb 5.1
to make it work just select on sound set up inputs: none outputs :external mixer select your souncard and then conect your souncard to your mixer as you choosed your outputs
