Tema: quick boot and udder BIOS goodies

i recently upgraded my phoenix bios and i disabled my wifi and bluetooth in the bios while i was at it

i didn't see any way to invoke quickboot .....

also i wanna turn off those stupid message balloon thingies " local network cable is unplugged "
etc ..........

i had it turned off b4 , it's in one of my books .... can't remember how i did it

Quickboot is only going to speed up your boot sequence by a couple of seconds at the most, assuming your machine doesn't already do quick tests on bootup. If you don't see any visible signs of a ram count on bootup, you will not likely gain anything from such an option.

Control Panel > Network Connections > The Adaptor you with to Change > Properties > Notify me when this...... (untick that one)

thanks Andrew ...... would the boot be really fast ... if not it's not worth the bother

edit ... i wanna turn off all the balloons not just the one ..... i know there's a way to turn them all off

It wouldn't really be much faster. When you turn the computer on do you see any indication of doing tests, such as a a changing number of how much ram has been checked etc? If you do, quickboot would save you roughly that amount of time. It may be 1 second, it may be 4 seconds, it may be nothing.
