Tópico: Deleting files in Vista

I seem to have files that i can't delete, but i don't know why.

If i search for all MP3's on my C drive for example, some of them won't delete. (it isn't just MP3's, it can be web shortcuts, jpegs etc. The file is there in the browser but won't delete or open. It like the file has an icon but there is no file. When i try to delete i get a message which hopefully you'll be able to see in the image below.



Does anyone know whats going on?

as far as i can tell vdj will add and delete tags etc in its own data base but will not affect anything in the source file unlike mixmeister which will follow any commands you make to a files original tags when using its software, hope in some future version this will be emulated by vdj, but i would hang about on a reply from cstoll or someone as qualified etc...

I'm not deleting the files in VDJ though, i'm trying to delete them in Explorer.

I'll keep hanging :)

What happends when you go to MY Computer > Drive > Folder > song > delete

The same as what i mentioned above. I'm trying to delete the files in windows browsers, not VDJ browser. Its not just music files, its any type of file.

Are you logged in as an admin, you might also need to disable UAC. But from the screenshot above I doubt it. Looks like you have a different issue.
 
You got me baffled... I delete and add things to vista everyday much as almost everyone here. So, the files work but when you try to delete them, they are only shells that can't be deleted.

No, the file doesn't work either. Its says it can't find its location, but its not a shortcut, its the actual file. Won't open and won't delete :(

I'm logged in as admin too.

What happends when you right click on item / properties / change to / " whatever" / then try to delete actual file
