sorry. Topic should read... License TRANSFER/Selling Computer with digital music legal?

Hey guys, I was wondering, let say I wanted to get out of DJing and I didn't need the computer anymore. If I sell the computer, can I transfer my license to someone else? And is it legal to include 11,200 songs if I sell my computer?

I don't think its legal to transfer your VDJ license. Your music.....well....you might want to talk to a lawyer about that.

I don't think you can transfer the license for the VDJ software, if that is what you are meaning to another person, as for the songs and mp3's I wouldn't have a clue, it's a right minefield all that stuff is.

No you can't sell your copy of VDJ, its against the EULA you agreed to when purchasing, as for music, you cant do that either unless you sell the originals.

Thanks guys good to know, I kind of figured I couldn't sell VDJ Pro with the computer. I guess I can install the DEMO version of it, that way the other user can see what it is all about. As far as the music, I was going to post that on ebay "PLUS 11,000 Songs!" but, I guess that's a no go. Thanks for your help!

you will get sued to high heaven if you sell your music that way aslo ...

Are you thinking about leaving us, and going out into the great wilderness.

As I join the fold, someone leaves, I feel sad. Lol

Believe me, I have developed ALLOOTTT of respect for the DJ. If I ever hire a DJ, I will post a "Things you don't tell a DJ" list for him. lmao. I started DJing when I was 18 out of high school. I did a couple of parties, but couldn't really go anywhere with it because I coudn't afford the equipment. The main impact was the fact I was getting promoted at Publix Supermarkets. Of course, with retail, (especially food retail) you have to be available 24/7... working 50-60+ hours per week. I since left that life and now I work for Wachovia. It's a 8-5 thing, Monday through Friday. So I started DJing again on Saturdays (mobile) made enough money to purchase equipment. I have been DJing since Virtual DJ 4 just came out. (Started with Hercules DJ Controler). Been DJing for a year, and people think a DJ has the easiest job .. THAT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE! From Club DJs to Mobile DJs ... even though it is short lived (mobile usually) it is not easy. I just found myself not as interested in it as I was 5 years ago. I am currently in school for Computer Information Technology. My friend is going to be hooking me up with a job at a school as there Technology Specialist.

So ... doesn't hurt to try new things ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR YOUNG! lol

I have some preaty decent equipment, so if I decide to sell it, I'll make sure to notate it in the forum!

Don't sell your equipment, you will regret it.

I had some 1210's mk2 brought for me on my 21st birthday. Used them every day for 6 years then stopped. Came back into DJing this year and now I can use them again after 5 years of being under wraps, Thanks to VDJ.

I thought about selling them, but I glad I didn't

Anyway Good luck in what you choose.

Thanks for the advice jimmy b. I haven't decided if I was going to yet. Heck, I still have my trumpet from middle school ... lol
