so if I'm not misunderstanding you are saying that if the crossfader is in midi mode is loosing it's analog functionality and functions?

THIS IS CORRECT as with all midi mixers (u can switch the midi on and off if needed)

Thats not actually true - with mixers such as the Ecler Evo 5 the crossfader can provide simultaneous audio and midi functionality.

MY BAD.. thanks 4 the info

SBDJ said that the ecler evo 5 can send both midi messages and audio at the same time I believe that the DDM 4000 can do the same thing when you go to "Midi Settings" in the mixer and just tick on the boxes that say channel 1-4 but not the corresponding "Audio Mute" next to each channel. So in short just ticking the "Channel" 1-4 and leaving the "Audio Mute" box unticked should do the trick. I think. I will try this tomorrow and will post a thread here.

hey there is anybody having some news about the problem??
I've just received my ddm4000 and know i just want to mix video in midi and keeping mixing my 2 lines in analog.
any solution?
thanks

i want this mixer so if someone can tell me if they have fixed this problem then im getting it today!!!!!!

Ok I know this thread has been dead for a while but I just came across it today. I have a ddm-4000 and I am intrigued at the possibility of using it with vdj pro. So I can use it without having to use my hercules rmx as a controller and I can have full mixing control of vdj with my mixer?

If this is the case I am a very happy guy, I will be able to travel lighter!

Any response is greatly appreciated.

alright i have a behringer ddm4000 and i use virtual dj 6.0.6. and my problem is that i have both channels (one and four) on my mixer midi mapped to virtual dj but i have to keep pressing tab to switch between deck 1 and 2. how can i map it out so i can have deck 1 and 2 on seperate channels???? so i dont have to keep switching back and forth

I was wondering if all the bugs have been worked out of the DDM4000 yet? Is this mixer doing audio / video the way it should or does this work around still need to be done?

Don't know which kind of problems you mean. There is a complete mapper for the DDM in the download section (professional users only). I know 2 people using this mixer without any problem.

P.S. The Trial version you are using is in fact a version for testing the basic functions of the software. In my eyes mapping of controllers is a more advanced thing. You can map the mixer by your own with the 'simple mapper' of the demo version to show you the functionality. But there will be no LED controlling of the device (if there are LEDs) because the simple mapper works only in one direction. Why completely mapping a controller for a 20 day trial version ? (my own opinion)

Thanks for the quick reply jakovski. I am interested in one main feature and its to be able to scratch my audio and video at the same time like I can with my Hercules RMX with my DDM4000. I bought a used RMX to try out VDJ and I love what this software does. I wish the RMX had more inputs / outputs and so on so I wanted a cheap way out and picked up the DDM4000. I just want to know if I can scratch video / audio before committing to the $300 of VDJpro. If there are any DDM4000 wonders doing this with no mods please let me know. Almost every post on the forums say that you can not cue/PFL to mix with the DDM4000 due to some sort of flaw in the DDM4000 working with the way VDJ treats its cueing.

I believe the problem he refers to is the fact the crossfader can't be used for MIDI and Audio at the same time. You can work around it by using it in headphones mode with one channel for the master and one channel for PFL but it's not pretty IMHO. I have seen mention on the SSL forums of someone modding one to fix it but information doesn't seem to have been forthcoming.

Yes SBDJ that is what I was referring to. So for the scratch DJ that wants to do video with VDJ there are only a few 4 CHANNEL mixers out there for us that will do the trick (DJM700, DJM800, Ecler NUO4, ZERO4) ?

Also the Ecler EVO5, Korg Zero8 (not really a scratch DJs mixer), the A+H Xone:4D (and 3D). There was an American Audio announced at NAMM as well but I can't remember what it was now!

Thanks for the list of others. I guess I will hold off for the release of the Numark X7. It looks to be in my price range and has the features I am looking for if it gels with VDJ6. Could I pick up that small 2 channel Midi Numark to scratch Videos to hold me off till the new gear from NAMM gets released?

ALOHA FROM HAWAII

I JUST GOT MY DDM400 3DAYS AGO AND IT WORK FINE WITH MY DENON HD2500... NOW I WANNA USE IT AS MIDI WITH MY NUMARK CUE.
AND I HAVE NO CLUE ON HOW TO MAP THE SOFTWARE WITH THE MIXER. I REALLY WOULD LIKE YOUR HELP ON THIS ONE.
pls email me.

thanks in advance
