Tema: DAC-2 Buffer

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I have noticed that you can spin the DAC-2 inner wheel so much that VDJ can't keep up and casically LOCKS ME OUT. Almost like a buffer is full

If I continue to spin the wheel so fast, VDJ just crashes

can this be fixed so it does not have such a large buffer?

This problem does not seem to happen with HDC

I think I found a bug please confirm dac-2 users...

load a track on right deck
load a track on left deck
start playing right deck
on dac-2 right deck, press and hold EJECT then scroll inner wheel
since the deck is playing, it can not load the track
instead it loads it on left deck.
I don't know if that is normal but ....

NOW, start playing left deck
on dac-2 right deck, press and hold EJECT then scroll inner wheel
Load a track
IT DOES NOT LOAD? No matter what I do I can not load a track on the right deck any more

the other thing I notice is that VDJ crashes MORE often when it is scanning the track, in fact the buffer problem I noted above seems to happen when it is scanning

so therefore when you load a track and it is scanning it, the system can be unstable and crash

should I set the max load to NONE?

son of a b|tch

that is the ROOT of all crashing

if the damn thing is scanning it is 10 times more likely to crash

Yet if I wait till it is done, it is fine

can someone please test this theory and reply so I can post a bug report?

Currently I have VDJ set to max load always

i noticed thi along time ago by zooming all the way out on the waveform then loading a trach and draging the waveform quickly past the bit that had loaded. once the song is completly loaded though everything is fine

anyone else confirm this?
open task manager
start a track playing
load a track on the other deck
watch the CPU spike to 100%
this is the cause of the crashes
when it settles back down it is fine

If maxload is set to always, the song is completely loaded into ram (and will then show full display for song structure and full wave display in virtual dj)

depending on size of mp3, this will of course, both need cpu (when loading) and ram size (uncompressed wave, of the mp3).

Guess the system is a bit sensitive while doing this, as Wireless seem to be able to reproduce the crash.

Maybe Dev Team can make the load process different, donno...

What happens if you "free up" more resourses for Windows? turn off most services, all un-needed background apps etc ?? to check if its a system spec "fault"... in other words, need faster pc and more ram

Also, for test purposes... what if you change the priority for Virtual DJ at task manager? to higher ?
just curious...
