A better solution would be to use something like Tag & Rename to organise your files - it's very flexible...

musicmatch use to have a great multi-renamer tool (Edit Track Tag) and winamp has right now an autoupdate tag, is a tool that recognize the music comparing to a database on the internet...in case that you have something like "1 - Track 1 - Various Artist.mp3", and it'll automatically recognizes the track... with the correct name (not all the time); something like that in virtual dj would be excellent so this way you don't have to use any external software to do this, only virtual dj.

i know there are a lot of rename programs out there
i use a few myself for some other purpose
i'm pretty much sure most people that rip their (promo only) dvds here
rip them with their tracknumbers
i don't know if they keep them like that or rename . . .
myself, i organize my promo onlys by month & series folders
(as you can see in a screenshot of my skin)
leaving the tracknumbers
even save a printable listing
so, in case i lose an orinial, i can at least make a quick copy . . .
just an option
if the first 2 characters of the filename are digits
and followed by "-" or " -"
do not include these in the artist file info
maybe it just sounds simple . . .
