Tooltips are hardcoded i think, so i don't believe it's possible.
By the way, what's wrong with the pitch display by the pitch slider?

yea its there, but while DJing with mouse and keyboard, i tend to watch the mouse pointer more than other parts of the screen. Maybe its like tunnel vision. lol
this idea wont help me if im doing a gig with a touchscreen, cause i hardly use the mouse in that environment...
