I have one sound card. It says you can configure VirtualDJ into split mode, so that left channel for master, right channel for monitor. But how can you use headphones and loud speakers at the same time? (without the aid of an external splitter box).

You can use the headphones to cue only if you have an external mixer and your playback will be in mono of course

No, no. You CAN use prelisten WITHOUT external mixer. You just need a Y-split cable from your soundcard, and connect your headphones to 1 mono output, and loudspeakers to the second. Then you choose in VDJ's settings a "stereo splitter" mode. That's it.
But in trial (demo) version, this IS NOT possible (disabled)!
