I am just starting out with DJing using this program and have a few questions... I want to start DJing parties , weddings etc.. no club mixing or anything like that...
1) How do I use the Automix function... when I try it on some songs it works fine and others it just puts the crossfader all the way to the other deck ( not a smooth transfer )
2) When I hit the SYNC button to try to match the beats nothing happens... not quite sure what I am doing wrong?

Have you checked out the User Guide on pages 15-18 (http://www.virtualdj.com/images/pdf/VirtualDJ6-UserGuide.pdf). It explains the Automix functionality quite well IMHO. I think you might find the answer to why some of your tracks are doing a Mix Cut, Mix Fade or a Mix Tempo automix.
The User Guide also gets installed in your My Documents/VirtualDJ folder...
