Hello Rethink,
To change the effect rotary buttons, you must keep the effect button (button 1 to 6) pushed down when you activate an effect and turn the jog wheels: as long as you don't release the effect button, the left jog controls the first setting of the effect, and the second jog controls the second setting of the effect (if any setting).
You can find it and more information on VirtualDJ 5 DJC manual, which you can download in pdf format on Hercules tech support website http://ts.hercules.com/eng/index.php?pg=files_faq in Download Section > Genre: Sound cards > Family: DJ Controller > Product: DJ Console Rmx > Link: Manual/Help file
